Angelo State University Celebrates Homecoming this Week

SAN ANGELO, TX – This week is Angelo State University’s homecoming week and here is a list of events being held that will culminate with the homecoming game on Saturday, October 16.

On Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ASU will host Ram Remembrance. This is a memorial event to mark the passing of ASU students, faculty, staff, and alumni during the previous academic year. The ceremony will take place in the Houston Harte University Center.

On Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ASU will host a dance marathon. The dance marathon is an annual event for the local Children’s Miracle Network at Shannon Hospital. It will be held at the ASU Pavilion located on the east side of campus.

On Friday ASU will hold the Alumni Association Homecoming Dinner & Awards. This event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a social gathering followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Houston Harte University Center.

Tickets are available from the Alumni Association for $60.00 per person for members or $75.00 for non-members.

After the Alumni dinner, at 9:30 p.m. the pep rally, bonfire, and fireworks will begin. This will take place in the open area near Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.

On Saturday at 10:00 a.m., the ASU Homecoming Parade begins at the Mayer Softball Complex and then winds through the ASU campus ending up at the Junell Center.

At Noon on Saturday, Midday Madness begins. The Rams and Belles basketball teams will tip off their first practice of the season adding in family-friendly activities in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m.

After Midday Madness, the Alumni Association Ram Jam, which is a tailgate party with a free concert by country music artist Case Hardin, will take place at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitor Center.

Then, beginning at 6:00 p.m. the homecoming game between the Angelo State Rams and the UTPB Falcons at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Comminuty Credit Union Field.

Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.
