IRAAN, TX – The Iraan High School Braves quarterback is facing a new opponent after being diagnosed with Leukemia.
Iraan sophomore Braden Kent was the starting quarterback for the Braves when school started, then he went to the emergency room.
“When they first came in and when we were in the ER they kept talking about leukemia, leukemia, leukemia. We just prayed that it’s not as far along as most cases.” Braden’s mother Katrina Kent said.
They later found out that Braden had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Braden doesn’t seem to be letting it get his spirits down.
“Out of the types you got the best one, the most curable. You got to also thank the Lord for that.” Braden said.
Not only the surrounding towns showed support for Braden, but the entire state of Texas has.
“This goes to show you there’s still a lot of good in this world and it’s because of the Lord Jesus,” said Braden’s father J Kent. “ Prayer and everything that brings all these people together to do something like this.”
