One Person Was Killed and 3 Unsecured Toddlers Injured in Horrific Rollover Crash

 

JUNCTION, TX – A resident of Arizona was killed Wednesday after a rollover crash on I-10 in Kimble County.

According to the crash report released by the Texas DPS, on Jul. 21 at around 10:35 a.m., troopers with the DPS were dispatched I-10 near Mile Marker 448 for a major crash.

When they arrived, the troopers found a 2015 Chrysler 200 that had rolled over on the side of the road.

Instantly paramedics were called to the scene and four of the five passenger that included a 19-year-old, a 2-year-old, a 3-month-old and a 3-week-old were all taken to the Kimble County Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

The driver Tiyerra Vigil, 18, from Phoenix, AZ, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Joshua Cantrell.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the Chrysler was traveling eastbound on IH-10 near mile marker 448 in the outside lane. While traveling eastbound, the driver for an unknown reason suddenly swerved to the right.

The Chrysler went into a left side skid toward the right improved shoulder of the roadway. It then left the roadway and rolled several times coming to rest upright facing northwest.

During the crash, both the driver and passenger were not secured by safety belts.  As well, the toddler and both infants were improperly secured in child passenger safety seats. 

At the time of the crash the weather was mostly clear and the road conditions were dry. The speed limit posted in the area in 80 mph.
