Officer Arrested During Altercation After Hit-and-Run

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- A San Antonio police officer is facing a serious suspension after he allegedly drove intoxicated.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, Officer Dezi Rios was off-duty when he crashed with another vehicle.

Rios fled the scene, but the driver of the second vehicle, a 61-year-old man, followed Rios and confronted him. This led to a confrontation in which Rios allegedly assaulted the ma.

Rios was arrested late Monday night and charged with  DWI and Failure to Stop and Provide Information. He could face additional charges in the future.

Rios was placed on suspension without pay as the department conducts a  criminal and administrative investigation.
