Legendary Hip Hop Group 'Dirty South Rydaz' to Perform Reunion Show in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – Everything’s bigger in Texas. Especially the number of legendary artists that have come out of it. However, there is something special about a group named, Dirty South Riderz (D.S.R), consisting of artists Big Tuck, Tum Tum, lil Ronnie 5’3, and Fat B, that carries anticipation to a large crowd in the city of San Angelo.

Back in the 2000’s, music was heavily influenced by a subculture that producers and recording artists, like Goodie Mob or David Banner, referred to as “Dirty South Music”. This “Dirty South” concept of music accelerated with the help of major corporations in the music industry, which pushed the concept into a wider, more popular culture.

This genre then overflowed into several states, including Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia. The excitement of this group returning to town after 3 years brings a nostalgic feeling to most who were influenced and indulged in the subculture. Local companies, Really Rixh Ent. (Really Rich) and (TTG) Taught to Grind Records L.L.C. saw the opportunity to bring excitement back to the city and local businesses of San Angelo.

Event sponsors include Smoothie Gains, The Shoeboxz, Retro Image, Jalapeño Locos, and 106.1 MDX. Opening for the show is independent artist, E.J. Rhodes, who is native to Arkansas and is well known for his R&B music, but also boasts a variety of styles in his catalog. Dru $tar, local artist and co-owner of record label, Really Rixh Ent, has his hit single, “Yea Yea” streaming on iHeart Radio and currently playing on 106.1 MDX, will also put on a show for his native city of San Angelo.

The D.S.R. Reunion show will be a concert you won’t want to miss. The performance takes place this Saturday, July 3rd @ Club El Patron. Join the festivities and grab ahold of that nostalgic “Dirty South” sound. Tickets are available on eventbrite.com until the day of the concert and will be available at the door.
