PORT ARANSAS, TX – The body of a 19-year-old San Antonio man washed up on the shore of the Port Aransas beach on Friday morning.

According to the South Jetty newspaper, on Jul. 1, the body of missing 19-year-old Nicholas Austin Mireles, of San Antonio, was found between mile marker nine and 10 at around 2:50 a.m.

Mireles had been missing since Wednesday after he and his father drowned while swimming in the gulf.

Police say that Mireles was swimming in the late morning of June. 30 when he became distressed and began drowning. Mireles father Richard Allen Mireles Jr., 47, went in to save his son but ended up drowning as well.

Officials were able to get the father's body out of the water on Wednesday but were not able to find the teen until today.
