SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo will officially kick off the 2021 Children’s Miracle Network campaign on Wednesday afternoon. The event, which is celebrating its 33rd year, is made possible thanks to the support of Walmart and Sam’s Club.
The funds raised every year by Children's Miracle Network (CMN) are used to purchase new equipment and provide training to benefit any department at Shannon that could treat a pediatric patient. CMN's goal is to provide these services locally so that area children may stay in San Angelo at home or close to home for their treatments.
“We are grateful for the continued partnership between Walmart and Sam’s Club and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals," said Hope Barron, Children’s Miracle Network. "Thank you again for your commitment to the youth of the Concho Valley and for hosting a remarkable event for our community."
Throughout the campaign shoppers at any of the local Walmarts and Sam's Club will have the opportunity to make a donation of $1 or more at the registers to raise funds for the CMN at Shannon Medical Center. The fundraiser will continue until late July.
"We are honored to partner with our local Children's Miracle Network during these unprecedented times,” said store manager Daniel Harris. “Our store is excited to have the opportunity to give back to the community by being able to kick off such an inspirational partnership that Walmart, Sam's Club, and CMN have solidified since 1987. The San Angelo community is passionate about contributing to the one billion dollars raised by Walmart and Sam's nationally and being recognized as a corporate partner of the year."
The kick-off event will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Walmart Neighborhood Market located on Knickerbocker Rd. The community is invited to join the event and check out the power boat show that will occur before the kickoff at the same store.
