A driver of a Ford Escape said that she knew a collision was about to happen, police said, after inadvertently disregarding a red light on South Bryant Avenue and pulling out into crossing traffic from Avenue L just after 7 p.m. She didn’t realize her mistake until it was too late to correct the error.
Meanwhile, a Pontiac Grand Am was westbound on Avenue L and had no time to stop. The two vehicles collided, sending the Grand Am into a light pole.
There were minor injuries, but paramedics treated everyone at the scene. Police said that the driver of the Ford Escape was cited for disregarding the red light.
