GARDENDALE, TX – A fatal crash claimed the lives of two people near Gardendale early Sunday morning.
According to DPS, troopers were dispatched to State Highway 158 for reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arriving at the scene troopers found a Chevrolet Silverado and Nissa Versa.
The preliminary investigation revealed the Silverado was traveling on the SH 158 when it entered the westbound lane and crashed head-on into the Versa.
The driver of the Versa, 27-year-old Colten Huckaby, and the passenger, 22-year-old Maicie Oliver, were killed in the crash. DPS confirmed both were wearing their seatbelts.
The driver and two passengers of the Silverado were transported to a local hospital with varying injuries.
