San Angelo Tests Water to Rescind Boil Notice

SAN ANGELO, TX -- As the water system in San Angelo slowly returns to some level of normal, water technicians have begun taking samples throughout the city. This is the first step towards rescinding the boil water notice currently in effect.

According to officials, technicians will take 50 samples from different distribution stations.

Once the collections are completed the samples will be tested locally, this process requires a minimum of 18 hours before the results return. If the tests return clear, then the City of San Angelo can remove the boil water notice citywide. 

The City water system lost pressure due to freezing and busted water mains last week during Winter Storm Uri. It took three days to fix the water main breaks and build up enough pressure to provide water tap service to all water customers in the city.

Residents who still do not have potable water can visit the San Angelo Stadium and Foster Communications Coliseum between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to receive up to 30 gallons of water that can be used for flushing.
