Red Creek MUD System Running Low on Water

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Red Creek Municipal Utility District is reporting similar problems as the City of San Angelo with its water system. Saturday, Feb. 20, the MUD issued an urgent plea to customers to conserve water.

Red Creek MUD serves customers in the area immediately north of the San Angelo city limits off highway TX-208.

Water in Red Creek MUD is currently being used faster than we can fill the tanks. If the pattern continues, a loss of water may happen again to our customers,” the MUD told its customers. “Red Creek MUD urgently needs customers to check for leaks and conserve usage to life essential use only.”

Red Creek lost water Tuesday, Feb. 16 and didn’t get its water running until Friday, Feb. 19. Since then, is on a boil water notice. The rural water system purchases water from the City of San Angelo. Its customers were also impacted by the water contamination incident that happened earlier this month of February 2021.
