Winter Storm Warning Issued for Monster Snow Storm

SAN ANGELO. TX – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Concho Valley beginning Saturday.

A strong arctic snow storm will blow into the Concho Valley Saturday night resulting in 3 to 6 inches of snow and dangerously cold wind chill values in the teens.

Blowing snow will create almost white out conditions Sunday night. The blowing snow could cause near zero visibility.  Weather conditions like these can lead to power outages.

Travel could become impossible in San Angelo and across the Concho Valley.  When the snow storm hits frostbite is possible with wind chills at almost 20 degrees below zero.

Officials warn that with temperatures in the single digits, pipes could burst, pets could die from exposure and unprotected livestock will be in danger.

This is a serious storm and now is the time to take precautions.
