AEP: Grape Creek Area Will Temporarily Lose Electricity on Friday Morning

SAN ANGELO, TX – AEP has confirmed the company will have to temporarily shut down the power in the Grape Creek area in order to fix an emergency issue with a regulator at the substation on Friday.

According to AEP, the company is aware of the inclement weather, but the issue with the equipment must be resolved as soon as possible.

Customers in Grape Creek will experience the outage around 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The repairs are expected to take approximately an hour, but many factors can impact how long the outage lasts, especially with low temperatures forecasted for the day.

In order to inform customers of the upcoming interruption in service, AEP initiated an automated phone message campaign to inform as many customers as possible.

AEP customers should keep in mind that sensitive electronic equipment should be connected to surge protection devices or similar protective equipment as a standard day to day practice.
