Darby: National Guard Activated, Headed to San Angelo to Handle Water Crisis

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — State Rep. Drew Darby issued a statement on the San Angelo water crisis at 3:45 p.m. Here it is:

"Over the last day, I have been in constant communication with our city leaders, community partners, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regarding the ongoing water issue in San Angelo.

"Primary and secondary water samples have been flown to Austin for immediate and thorough testing by TCEQ, with results expected later today or early tomorrow.

"The 6th Civil Support Team of the Texas National Guard has been activated and its mobile water testing unit will now be available for use in San Angelo.

<p>Please continue to stay alert for announcements from the City, as we anticipate water restrictions being lifted in some areas of San Angelo. Our incredible partners at H-E-B and Walmart have been working overnight and throughout the day to ensure plenty of water and clean food is available to our residents. As a community we must continue to be patient and work together to get through this crisis," State Rep. Drew Darby said.
