SAN ANGELO, TX – Agents from CBP’s Air and Marine Operations located a man lost in a rural area for four days, Feb. 3.
“I am proud of our AMO personnel for their dedication and perseverance in bringing this potentially life-threatening situation to a successful conclusion,” said Director of Air and Marine Operations Felix Ledee. “In remote areas, often CBP Air and Marine Operations personnel and aircraft are vital to locating people in distress.”
At 10 a.m., Feb. 3, San Angelo AMO received a request to assist local law enforcement in locating a subject who had been missing for four days. AMO launched a PC-12 crew to search a rural area near Twin Buttes Reservoir, where the subject’s vehicle was last spotted. After nearly four hours, the aircraft returned to base to refuel and a second flight was launched.
Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Game Wardens provided additional information, leading AMO to spot the subject and guide ground units to his location. He was transferred to local EMS and taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
