18-Wheeler Crash Unleashes Swarm of Bees

SAN ANTONIO, TX – An 18-wheeler carrying honey bees made life difficult for first responders after they swarmed an overturned tractor-trailer.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department Spokesman Joe Arrington, the 18-wheeler turned over as the driver attempted to travel on the Finesilver curve on I-10 West offramp to Eastbound I-35 late Sunday morning.

The tractor-trailer belonged to a company that specializes in the removal of bees.

No one was injured, but angry bees swarmed the area as officials attempted to clear the highway and investigate.

Responding officers used a combination of soap and water to clean up the scene. No chemicals were used.
