Fugitive Who Shot at Troopers Captured in Miles

MILES, TX – The man accused of firing a gun at DPS Troopers Monday night in Brady was captured Tuesday night in Miles.

The driver evaded arrest for approximately two city blocks before stopping and attempting to discharge a firearm out of the driver side window. The driver then continued to evade, abandoned the vehicle on private property, and fled on foot.

The driver was identified as Justin Dunway Friar, 33 of Georgetown, Texas.

After DPS troopers released a wanted notice for Friar they quickly discovered his location.

According to the DPS, on Jan. 12, at approximately 7:30 p.m., (CST) Friar was located in a residence in the city of Miles and taken into custody by DPS Troopers, Special Agents and Texas Rangers without any incident.

He was arrested and taken to the Tom Green County Jail. Friar is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

His bond is set at $350,000.
