SAN ANGELO, TX -- On Friday afternoon, Tom Green County officially surpassed 4,000 COVID-19 cases 200 days after the first local case was confirmed.
According to the San Angelo Health Department, 33 new cases were reported today. This brings the total number of cases to 4,001.
This week San Angelo has experienced what many are calling an uptick in cases with 165 new cases since Monday afternoon.
During the week the health department confirmed the daily count of new cases over 30 consistently.
Friday's youngest patient is only 3 while the oldest is 93.
There are currently 13 patients hospitalized due to coronavirus.
