Brownwood ISD Cancels Football Games Due to Covid-19

BROWNWOOD, TX – After a student-athlete tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, Oct. 6, all Brownwood High School varsity football-related activities involving students have been suspended until those quarantined are cleared to return to campus.

According to BHS, the infected student was last seen on campus on Oct. 2 and the district anticipates to resume varsity football activities on October 19.

Upcoming varsity game with Midlothian Heritage scheduled for Oct. 9 and Waco La Vega on Oct. 16 are canceled at this time.

BHS announced that subvarsity and rescheduling options are currently being examined under UIL 5-AAAA rules.

BISD is currently working with the Brownwood Health Department to identify and notify anyone who may have come into close contact with the student. Remote instruction plans for quarantined students will be put into action while they are off-campus.
