Man Arrested After Fatal Motorcycle Race

 

ODESSA, TX — After a motorcycle race ended in tragedy, a 35-year-old man has been charged in connection to the crash.

According to the Odessa Police Department, Dondrell Simms, 35, and Thomas Simms, 36, were racing to down Rainbow St. when the crash occurred. Thomas Simms died as a result of the crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed the two men were racing in a 30 mph zone. Just before the crash, Dondrell was traveling 60 mph while Thomas was traveling 74 mph.

Dondrell was charged with Racing on a Highway, a second-degree felony.
