SAN ANGELO, TX – In this week's matchup between the Lake View Chiefs and the Sweetwater Mustangs the Mustangs took home the win after holding off the Chiefs in their 58 - 42 road win.
Sweetwater put points up on the board early in the first quarter and afterwards drive the score up two touchdowns, 14 - 0.
Late in the second quarter, the Chiefs got their opportunity to score after quarterback Albert Rodriguez ran for a 14-yard touchdown in a quarterback keeper.
Towards the end the first half Lake View quarterback Albert Rodriguez ran for a short 2-yard touchdown as the Mustangs lead the Chiefs 34 - 14 going into halftime.
To start the third quarter, Lake View quarterback Albert Rodriguez rolled out to the right to find Brandon Herrera who ran for a large gain.
The following play, Lake View Quarterback Albert Rodriguez hit Tristan Franklin who hauled in the pass for a nice 25-yard touchdown, however the following two point conversion was no good.
With approximately 3:42 left in the third quarter Sweetwater Quartrback Leo Hulsey found the end zone on a quarterback keeper after a short four yard touchdown.
Sweetwater ended the third quarter with a 26-point lead.
After back to back touchdowns from both teams early in the fourth quarter, Sweetwater led Lake View 52 - 26 with approximately five minutes left in regulation.
During the last two minutes of the game, Sweetwater's Ethan Brockman made a huge 95-yard touchdown run. Then, the Mustangs fended off the Chiefs throughout the remainder of the game, and pull off the 58-42 win
