Severely Injured Officer Pulled From Burning Patrol Car

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX - Investigators with the San Antonio Police Department are reviewing dash cam footage in order to gather clues and evidence into the cause of a crash Monday morning involving a San Antonio Police officer. 

Reports indicate the crash happened around 3 a.m. Monday morning on the service road of Loop 1604 near Lockhill and Selma. 

As firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the patrol car on fire and the officer unresponsive inside.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and pull the officer out of the car.

The injured officer was immediately rushed to the hospital where she is currently being treated for traumatic injuries, including a broken leg. 

SAPD says they are unsure as to what caused the accident after determining the officer was incoherent due to her injuries. 

Dash cam footage is currently being reviewed as authorities continue their investigation.
