SAN ANGELO, TX – On the afternoon of June 9, two Officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to a residence off of Southwest Boulevard following the report of a male subject with a weapon. Call notes state the caller's brother was threatening to kill him and was armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, officers observed the Defendant (Brandon Fitzgibbon) exit the front passenger seat of a 2019 Grey Ford F-150.
Shortly after, officers located a pocket knife stabbed into the front center console of the vehicle next to where the Defendant was previously seated.
Contact was made with the victim (Eric Fitzgibbon) who called emergency personnel where officers observed he had been cut on the neck by a sharp instrument with injuries consistent from that of a knife.
During an interview the victim advised he was taking the Defendant back to his hotel room from the bar when the Defendant grew very angry for a reason he could not understand.
As the conversation escalated the Defendant pulled out a pocket knife and threatened to kill him, before punching the victim in the face several times with a closed fist.
The victim advised he stopped the car and shortly after the Defendant told him to get out to which he refused.
In anger the Defendant attacked the victim causing a laceration to the neck of the victim.
The two exited the vehicle as the Defendant continued to threaten the victim's life multiple times.
During their investigation officer's obtained a Snapchat video that was taken by the victim shortly after the assault where footage showed the Defendant stating he was going to kill the victim.
Brandon James FItzgibbon was arrested and Booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon where he is currently being held on a $35,000.00 bond.
