SAN ANTONIO, TX – Twenty-three-year-old Taron Larry Bowie has been arrested for allegedly shooting at three individuals and hitting two of them during an “exchange of an XBOX" at a carwash. During his arrest, he took the opportunity to promote his SoundCloud and YouTube channel.
“We believe this suspect and one other were luring these victims to the location under the pretenses of purchasing this XBOX from them, probably in hopes of robbing them of what they had or whatever merchandise they had,” said Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar.
According to KTXS, Bowie allegedly used an ‘AR-15 type pistol’ in a ‘spray and pray method’ at a carwash on May 13. Bowie shot a 19-year-old in the back, an 18-year-old in the foot, and a 23-year-old who was not harmed.
“I think it shows the lack of regard for human life, quite frankly," Salazar said. If robbery was the motive, they could have just robbed these guys, but he came out shooting and it appears that he just didn’t care if he was hitting somebody, not hitting anybody, killing somebody in the process. It just shows he was indiscriminately spraying gunfire and two of these three young men suffered injuries I hope they’ll make a full recovery from.”
The weapon allegedly used in the assault was found inside a throw pillow inside Bowie’s car when he was arrested. Bowie is suspected of having connections to organized crime, but police have not confirmed any further information.
Bowie claims he is innocent and used his time in front of the cameras to promote his music ventures. He recently moved from New Orleans and is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful carry of a weapon, and possession of a firearm.
