San Saba Grocery Store Rebuilt in One Week Thanks to Volunteers

SAN SABA, TX – The Lowe's Grocery Store in San Saba has been rebuilt and is now back in business.

As previously reported on Mar. 20, the Lowe's Grocery store in San Saba caught on fire and nearly burned down. Here is the story: WATCH: San Saba Grocery Store Burns Down in Midst of Coronavirus Panic

Firefighters fought the fire the entire night and into the following morning. It was a complete loss of the majority of the building.

The Lowe's Grocery store is the only grocery store that has fresh meat and vegetables for at least 30 miles. With the need there many volunteers from around the area got together and decided to rebuild the market.

The construction consisted of moving interior walls, re-wiring everything, and getting the store prepared to be stocked with groceries.

Now the store is stocked thanks to the help from Ministerial Alliance who brought in two trailers of food.

The efforts to speed a two month process into one week came from Lowe's Management, City of San Saba, Property Owners Al & Kay Stowell, organizer of the event Brad Williams, and the many volunteers.
