NWS: Street Flooding Friday in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – A band of heavy rain Friday morning is causing street flooding in San Angelo and across the Concho Valley. 

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, showers with locally heavy rainfall will move east into the Concho Valley, Big Country and Edwards Plateau early this morning. Sweetwater, Abilene, San Angelo, Ozona, and Sonora may localized flooding of streets and low water crossings. Locally heavy amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. Do not drive through water of unknown depth.

The band of showers stretched from near Del Rio to near Wichita Falls. A large band of showers and isolated thunderstorms will move east across West Central Texas this morning and afternoon. Localized flooding is possible, as some storms may produce 1 to 2 inches of rainfall. The heavy rainfall may affect the morning commute in the Big Country, the Concho Valley, and southward to Ozona and Sonora.
