SAN ANGELO, TX – A Tom Green County Grand Jury indicted a 48-year-old in November for allegedly attempting to attack a family member with a knife.
As previously reported, on September 28, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic problem on the 8000 block of Cedar Lane. Here is the original story: Broken Down Vehicle Leads to Man Charging Family Member with Knife
When they arrived, deputies met with multiple witnesses on the scene and learned what occurred. Deputies said that before their arrival, Ramon Sanchez, 48, and a family member had gotten into an argument about fixing a car.
The argument escalated and Sanchez pulled a knife on his family member and threatened to kill him. Sanchez then charged at the victim but he was able to get away and run, deputies reported.
Other family members on scene were able to calm everyone down and Sanchez put the knife away.
Deputies reported three separate witnesses said that Sanchez did threaten to kill the victim. They also found the knife in Sanchez's truck.
Sanchez is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. He was released November 6 after putting up a $25,000 bond.
His Initial Pre-Trial is set for January 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
