Broken Down Vehicle Leads to Man Charging Family Member with Knife

GRAPE CREEK, TX -- The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested a man over the weekend for attempting to stab a family member.

According to the affidavit signed by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, on September 28, deputies with the TGSO responded to a domestic problem on the 8000 block of Cedar Lane.

When they arrived they met with multiple witnesses on scene and learned what occurred. Deputies say that before their arrival, Ramon Sanchez, 48, and a family member had gotten into an argument about fixing a car.

The argument escalated and Sanchez pulled a knife on his family member and threatened to kill him. Sanchez then charged at the victim but he was able to get away and run.

Other family members on scene were able to calm everyone down and Sanchez put the knife away.

After deputies arrived, three separate witnesses said that Sanchez did threaten to kill the victim. They also found the knife in Sanchez's truck.

Sanchez is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently in the Tom Green County Jail and his bond is set at $25,000.
