SAN ANGELO, TX – The Concho Valley could see abundant rainfall from numerous thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon through Early Friday morning as a storm system blows through west Texas.
According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo there is a 50% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.
A strong thunderstorm or two will be possible this afternoon and evening, mainly north of a Sterling City to Baird line.
The main concerns will be strong wind gusts, hail, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible Thursday and Friday. Lightning will be the primary hazard during this time period.
The forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon today then partly sunny, with a high near 76. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
There is a 30% chance of rain tonight and a 20% chance on Thursday.
Thursday night and early Friday showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after midnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a low around 42. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
