UPDATE: September 30th @ 3:50 PM
According to CBS7, the Odessa serial shooter has been identified as Troy Lee Wilson, 36.
In the press conference held earlier this morning, the Ector County Sherriff’s Office declined to give any information regarding the identity of the alleged shooter.
Public documents requested by CBS7 revealed the identity of the alleged shooter and details of his arrest.
The affidavit stated that on Friday afternoon an undercover officer of the Odessa Police Department told a DPS trooper they were following a white truck, matching the description of Wilson's vehicle.
Officers attempted to stop Wilson by using his emergency lights, but Wilson failed to comply. According to the report, the officer then turned on his siren and observed Wilson look into both of his side mirrors and reach for an unknown object.
Wilson then drove four miles before stopping west of Loop 250 in Midland County where he was arrested. Wilson is being held on a $500,000 bond for capital murder and a $500,000 for evading arrest in a motor vehicle.
According to CBS7, the station received numerous calls alerting them a white vehicle was pulled over and had at least seven DPS vehicles parked behind the truck. Some witnesses claimed the officers had their weapons drawn at one point.
Wilson allegedly shot at four different vehicles during his shooting spree, where he injured one individual and fatally wounded another. In the two other incidents he reportedly only hit the vehicles.
