SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department swore in twelve new officers yesterday.
On September 20, the SAPD hosted a graduation ceremony for twelve officers that have completed over 1,000 hours of academy training.
The ceremony started with a welcome from Lt. Brian Robinson and an opening pray from Chaplain Marcella Jenkins.
After this Mayor Brenda Gunter took the stage and spoke to the crowd about the importance of the police here in town. She finished by thanking them for their service and cautioned them of the sacrifice officers are forced to make.
City Manager Daniel Valenzuela and then Chief of Police Frank Carter gave speech's to the now apprentice police officers.
The Ceremony ended with Carter pinning the group of officers and the group swearing themselves to the department.
