BROWNWOOD, TX -- A man confessed to sexually assaulting a child on Friday just moments before taking a polygraph.
According to the Brownwood Bulletin, on July 26 the Brown County Sheriff's Office called Dustin Thompson, 46, into the law enforcement center to talk about him being a possible suspect in a child sexual assault investigation.
The investigation started last month after a 14-year-old child made an outcry about being sexually assaulted.
On July 25, Thompson was arrested and booked for public intoxication and during this arrest he agreed to come back to take a polygraph test. When he showed up the next day to take the test he told the DPS polygraph operator, prior to the test, that he did the crime.
Thompson was then arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. He is currently in the Brown County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
