Fire Departments from Across Concho Valley Respond to Massive Grass Fire

ELDORADO, TX -- Volunteer fire departments from all across the Concho Valley responded to a massive grass fire that covered around 5,000 acres. 

According to Assistant Chief of the Eldorado Fire Department TJ Rodriguez On July 20 at around 5:00 p.m. the EVFD was dispatched 20 miles west of Eldorado for a grass fire. 

The fire burned for two whole days and is still burning but is being controlled by the forest service. 

The fire covered around 5,000 acres and burned multiple oil field machinery including poly lines and other minor structures. 

No people, live stock, or major structures have been reported hurt or damaged at this time. 

EVFD was the lead department for the fire so they were fighting the fire both days. Crocket County Volunteer Fire Department, Sutton County Volunteer Fire Department, and Ozona Volunteer Fire Department assisted on Saturday. Irion County Volunteer Fire Department, Pecan Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Christoval Volunteer Fire Department, and the Wall Volenteer Fire Department assisted on Sunday.
