COLLEGE STATION, TX -- Ozona and Sonora saw their run to a Division III State 7-on-7 championship came to an end in the round of 16 at the Texas State 7-on-7 tournament on Friday.
Sonora was tied with Bremond 20-20 at the half before the Tigers held the Broncos to just one touchdown in the second half to win 34-26.
Ozona fell behind 14-0 to Falls City at the half and made a late push to try and win. The Lions eventually fell 27-16 to bring their tournament to an end.
Both teams finished the tournament with a 1-4 record.
Bremond and Falls City will square off in the quarterfinals.
The Central Bobcats are slated to begin pool play at 2:00 p.m.

After each team went 0-3 to start the state 7-on-7 tournament, the Ozona Lions and Sonora Broncos each pulled off wins to advance to the round of 16.
Ozona won 27-24 over undefeated Daingerfield to move on to the next round. Sonora also beat undefeated Dublin 40-29.
The Lions will face Falls City and the Broncos will face Bremond. The Round of 16 games are scheduled for 10:15 a.m.
After going unbeaten on Thursday, Brady fell 46-13 to East Bernard. The Eldorado Eagles lost 55-6 against Wichita Falls City View. Ballinger fell 26-22 in a close game with Alpine.
