UPDATE: NWS: Flood Advisory Issued for Eastern Counties in the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for San Angelo and the Concho Valley until 11 p.m. Monday evening. 

According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK, additional thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through this evening, mainly across the Concho Valley and Hill Country.

Some of these storms may become severe and produce damaging winds,large hail, heavy rain and lightning.

There is a 30 percent chance thunderstorms in the forecast tonight. 

The NWS is tracking a strong thunderstorm in the Rowena area moving northeast at 10 mph.  

This is a developing weather situation.

UPDATE: 6/24/19 5:00 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm is developing over eastern Tom Green County and western Concho County and the area is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:45 p.m.

The severe thunderstorm is in the vicinity of the communities of Vick and Van Court.  It seems to be building with little movement. 

Other storms continue to develop in the area.  

UPDATE: 5:44 p.m.

The NWS has issued a flood advisory for all the small communities in eastern Tom Green County and western Concho County including Mereta, Veribest, Van Court and Eola.  

Heavy rains on already saturated ground is causing flooding.  Avoid driving in these areas if at all possible.  Storms continue to develop over Tom Green County.
