Motorcyclist Hits, Kills Pedestrian in Abilene

 

ABILENE, TX -- A pedestrian crossing a street died Saturday evening in Abilene.

Police say the crash happened on South 1st Street at the intersection of Portland Avenue around 11:10 p.m., according to KTXS.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered 48-year-old Ronald Crane was walking north across S. 1st St. when he was hit by a motorcyclist going westbound. Both had to be transported to the hospital for their injuries.

Crane was later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Sparky Dean.

KTXS reports the motorcyclist was not wearing his helmet at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing with Abilene Police Department's Traffic Division.
