SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Regional Airport’s master plan will be a topic of discussion during a public meeting Thursday, May 30. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the conference room in the airport terminal, 8618 Terminal Circle.
This is the second of four public workshops to be held during the preparation of the study, which is expected to be complete in the late fall. The airport’s last master plan was adopted in 1995.
An airport master plan is a comprehensive study that focuses on short‐, medium‐, and long‐term development improvements needed to meet future aviation demand. The plan evaluates facilities that serve passengers, air cargo, aircraft owners, pilots and airport tenants. It also provides guidance on how facilities should be updated to maintain high levels of service to the flying public into the future.
At Thursday’s gathering, the project team will present updated aviation forecasts and the results of the facility requirements evaluation. These findings provide the framework for the formulation of development alternatives to meet future aviation needs. The team will also answer questions and receive input from citizens.
Public involvement is a critical part of the planning process and occurs throughout the master plan’s development. Public involvement is meant to include parties interested in the plan’s development, ensuring the final product reflects the goals and objectives of the community.
