AUSTIN BOUND: 61 Area Athletes Set to Compete at State Track Meet

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The UIL state track meet will have a West Texas feel to it. A total of 61 athletes from the Concho Valley will converge on the campus of the University of Texas and the Mike A. Myers Track Stadium come May 10.

Garden City will be rolling deep to Austin with an area-high 11 athletes. The Bearkats are helped by the fact all three boy's relays and one girl's relay team qualified for state.

Right behind Garden City is Wall, who is sending 10 athletes to Austin. The Hawks and Lady Hawks swept the Class 3A Region I meet titles.

Eden will be represented by two relay teams with the boy's 800- and 1600-meter relay.
