Flood Advisory Issued for Tom Green and Surrounding Counties

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Schleicher County, Tom Green County and Eastern Irion Countyntil 12:15 p.m. At 10:14 a.m.doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. One to three inches inches of rain have already fallen. Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected over the area over the next few hours. This additional rain will cause minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include San Angelo, Eldorado, Mertzon, Christoval, Wall, San Angelo State Park, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Sherwood, Grape Creek, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Carlsbad, Veribest, Knickerbocker, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, Arden, Lake Nasworthy, Tankersley, the Intersection of Ranch Road 1828 and Ranch Road 915, Adams and the Intersection Of US-190 and Ranch Road 1828. This includes the following low water crossings ... Howard and Webster... Southwest Blvd and Loop 306... Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant... College Hills and Millbrook... FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek... Ranch Road 859 crossing west Rocky Creek... 1500 Block of Spaulding... 300 block of North Archer... FM 2334 crossing Ninemile Creek and FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch. Do not drive through these low water crossings or any other low water crossing with water flowing across the roadway. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
