SAN ANGELO, TX - After only being together for only a year the Texas Cheer Obsession cheer team (Age Group 8-11) has landed a spot on the national stage.
The cheer group clinched a spot in the upcoming national D2 Summit at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida in May.
It's Texas Cheer Obsession's first appearance on the national stage.
"It's been so much fun seeing them progress this year," said head coach Taylor Gonzales. "Going to Disney has been a dream that we've always had and it's finally coming true."

The cheerleaders will perform a two and half minute routine filled with plenty.
"It consists of stunts, jumps, tumbling and dance," said Gonzales.
As far as what's working in the team's favor Ayvah Vega has her thoughts.
"I think the best one in the routine is are stunts," said Vega.
As one of the smallest cheerleaders in the group, Vega is tossed in the air frequently. To some that may not fly, but for Vega it's become second nature.
"It looks scary but it's not. It's fun," said Vega.
For most of these girls, they're combining experience with cheer and dance and putting it all together. Meanwhile, for Akira Sanders this experience was something she never saw coming.
"Whenever I started I thought that I was going to do just classes," said Sanders. "But now that I'm getting to go to Orlando, Florida it makes me feel all gooey inside because I never thought I'd come here."
Texas Cheer Obsession is looking to taking donations to help with travel experiences for the cheer team. To help donate you can contact Diana Gutierrez at 325.212.4384.
