SAN ANGELO, TX -- No major damage has been reported from the squall line of severe thunderstorms that blew through San Angelo Tuesday night but winds associated with a strong cold front have prompted a high wind warning for the area Wednesday.
A cold front will move through area Wednesday morning. As this front moves east, very strong winds will develop across much of West Central Texas, beginning mid morning.
Very strong winds will then continue, across much of West Central Texas, through late this evening.
Strong winds and patchy blowing dust will develop this afternoon along and west of an Sonora to Cross Plains line.
A High Wind Warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today for southwest winds of 35 to 40 mph, with possible gusts to 60 mph.
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for the counties just south and east of the warning area, for winds of 25 to 35 mph, with possible gusts to 50 mph.
