Wind Chills Below Zero Forecast for Early Monday Morning

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Winter weather has returned to the Concho Valley and the Big Country as an arctic cold front pushes into Texas Sunday. Temperatures will stay steady in the mid 30s throughout the day and drop to 18 degrees by Monday morning.

As an arctic cold front pushes south, across Texas today, very cold air will settle across West Central Texas.

This very cold air will linger for the next couple days and create the potential for record low temperatures early Monday morning.

Gusty north winds will make it feel very cold tonight, when the wind chill will likely be around minus three degrees, north of Interstate 20.

Elsewhere tonight, expect a wind chill mainly from zero to five degrees.

People are strongly urged to protect outside pets, vulnerable livestock, any exposed water pipes, and cold-sensitive plants.

Remember, temperatures this cold and wind chill this low create hazardous conditions.

This is a developing story.
