Crash on MLK Sends San Angelo Man to the Hospital

The driver of gold early model Toyota Corolla was sent to the hospital following a crash on Martin Luther King Blvd. at 11th Street at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday.

According to the investigating San Angelo police officer, the Corolla was southbound on MLK and a late model red Chevrolet pickup was pointed north, attempting to turn left onto 11th Street. The truck failed to yield the right-of-way to the Corolla and crashed into the driver's side.

The male driver of the Corolla sustained minor injuries, likely from his head hitting the side window during the impact, police said. He was transported to Community Medical Center via ambulance.

The driver of the red pickup was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way and she did stop and rendered aid at the scene.
