High Winds and Blowing Dust in Store for the Concho Valley Saturday

SAN ANGELO, TX -- It's going to be a windy, gusty Saturday across the Concho Valley as northwest winds are forecast to gust up to 45 mph.

The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a wind advisory for all of West Central Texas through 6 p.m. Saturday evening.

According to the NWS, a wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday. Northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph are forecast with gusts up to 45 mph.

Strong winds will strengthen by late Saturday morning.

Travel will become difficult, particularly for high profile vehicles on east-west highways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Occasional wind gusts to 40 mph will be possible today. These gusty winds may cause some difficulty for drivers of high profile vehicles.

In addition, localized areas of blowing dust may reduce visibilities, and light, loose outdoor objects may be blown around.

This is a developing situation.  We will update details as necessary.
