Dangerously High Levels of Vitamin D Leads to Recall of Several Dog Food Brands

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The FDA has recalled nine brands of dog food after they were found to have contained high levels of vitamin D.

Vitamin D is good for dogs, but too much can cause health issues such as vomiting and diarrhea, as veterinarian Dr. Allen Bolt told KTXS.

The recalled brands include Kroger and Sunshine Mills. The brands were sold nationwide.

They were recalled because the level of vitamin D was found to be 70 times higher than the intended amount in some brands.
