SAN ANGELO, TX — An illegal alien crashed a Chevy pickup into a power pole Friday afternoon near the intersection of 19th St. and Armstrong breaking the pole in half.
The unidentified man then fled the scene and San Angelo Police Officers tracked him to a house in the 4000 block of Armstrong.
SAPD Investigating officer Welch said the Chevy 1500 hit the pole and spun around then the driver left the scene. AEP crews were called to repair the pole.
Welch said the suspect told police he was in the U.S. illegally. Welch said they couldn’t confirm that with the Border Patrol, so the man was not arrested.
Welch says the illegal alien was issued three citations; one for failure to stop and leave information at the scene of an accident, failure to control speed, and no driver’s license.

PermalinkWhy is the citizenship even listed? Hopefully soon it will be like race and gender. Who cares if a woman driver smashed into a poll? A white driver crashed into a poll? Why bring in citizenship status. Only to make a point. Point out all the crimes of the scapegoats. This is what Hitler did. He blamed everything on those Jews.

PermalinkWithout respect to the legal status of the offender, the series of events which followed the accident were peculiar, even if the offender had been black or white. There are a plethora of factors, however, that local law enforcement face when it comes to illegal immigrants, many which most people simply aren't aware of. This article would certainly raise a few eyebrows, and questions, regarding the procedures which procede such an incident.
One such question, which many more than likely asked, was "Is San Angelo a sanctuary city?"

It's a question that warrants an answer, about a problem that needs to be addressed. You can't simply sweep away inconvenient truths, because they give you goosebumps. Again, the meat of this story was not the fact that an alleged Mexican immigrant got into a fender bender, rather the legal procedures in dealing with detaining illegals, which proceeded the accident. People want to know more about these procedures, and hold the authorities in question's feet to the fire, when something seems awry.

PermalinkWhy is the citizenship even listed? Really? I’m not a “citizen” of you family, but if I break into your home and destroy some of your belongings, is that not a problem for you?! I clearly don’t belong in your house. This isn’t rocket science. Illegal aliens are just that, ILLEGAL! They need to be arrested and sent back, just as I should be arrested for busting into your home and destroying your belongings. Illegal aliens have other rights other than being treated humanely. Ignorance of not knowing our driving laws is no excuse. Don’t drive if you don’t understand or have no insurance. None of this is racist. That’s just a stupid diversion tactic that does not apply. The offender could be black, white, or Chinese; race doesn’t matter, they are ILLEGAL ALIENS.

While I'm not one for emulating Mexico's racial chauvanism, such as when former president Vicente Fox complained that expatriate Mexican workers were forced to do jobs that "not even the blacks want," ( https://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3657745 ) I can see the use in having identifying characteristics marked on an ID.
The existence of melanin is a beautiful fact, and the reality of separate nations with distinct rules and customs isn't mind boggling. Knowing that someone comes from a country where traffic laws differ can also be a useful fact.
