Congressman Conaway Fondly Remembers President George H.W. Bush

MIDLAND, TX -- Congressman Mike Conaway (R) Midland posted a photo from 2016 on Facebook today remembering former President George H.W. Bush.  Conaway is from Midland and worked with former President George W. Bush.

Conaway posted in 2016, "This weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting with our 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush. He was also at Kyle Field watching the Aggies play a well-fought game against Ole Miss.

I was in College Station touring Texas A&M's first class departments dedicated the many disciplines of education in agriculture. However, the last stop on the tour was the Bush Presidential Library.

Walking through, I was reminded of his long and noble career. He displayed valor and bravery in the Pacific theater in World War II. He moved his family to West Texas then Houston to carve his own path toward the American dream, always giving back along the way. Then, in 1966 he was elected to the US House, which began an era of public service that continues to today.

Thank you President Bush for being a fine example for all Americans."

Congressman Conaway said of the photo above, "This is a memory I will never forget. President George H.W. Bush will be missed dearly-- but his passion and legacy will never fade."

President George H.W. Bush passed away Friday.  His funeral is Wednesday.
