Speedboat Capsizes on Lake Nasworthy

A speedboat on Lake Nasworthy capsized and was disabled near the Nature Conservatory cove Saturday afternoon. Home Motors, a wrecker company we usually see at roadway crashes, pulled the capsized boat out of the water.

According to the San Angelo Police Lake Patrol Division Officer, the driver of the boat was entering a “no wake zone” and slowed too abruptly. That caused the boat to nose into the water and it swamped and overturned.

There were no injuries and no damage to any other property other than the boat.

The SAPD officers on the lake want to remind all enjoying the full and refreshing lakes this weekend to make sure that all alcohol consumption is done in moderation, and to observe all boating safety laws.

The driver of the capsized boat is undergoing a sobriety test right now.
