WALL, TX-- The Wall Hawks clinched an eighth consecutive outright district title with a 47-6 win over Early on Friday.
Leading the charge for the Hawks' dominant offensive showing was sophomore Chase Rios, our week 11 Player of the Week. He is the third Hawk to earn the honor this season along with Sutton Braden and Mason Fuchs.
Rios had his third-straight game of over 100 yards rushing with 124 yards on eight carries against Early. What was more impressive were his team-leading four touchdowns.
The stellar performance brought Rios' season total to 680 yards rushing and 13 total touchdowns.
Rios made his first appearance on varsity in week 3 against Midland Christian. It wasn't until the Hawks' pivotal game with Eastland in week 9 that he broke the century mark with a 153-yard, 3-touchdown performance on 16 carries.
Heading into the season, Wall needed another player to step up in their backfield and take the load off of fullback Sutton Braden. That player has been Rios and Wall's offense has seemingly been firing on all cylinders since then.
Wall will be back at Early this Friday to take on Pilot Point in the Bi-District round of playoffs.
