Arctic Cold Front Bringing First Freeze to the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO, TX -- An Arctic cold front sweeping its way down the middle of the country has prompted a freeze watch for Throckmorton and Haskell counties tonight and freezing temperatures are forecast overnight for the Big Country north of I-20.  

The same cold front will bring the season's first freezing temperatures to the Concho Valley Monday. 

Freezing temperatures are possible tonight across parts of the area, mainly north of Interstate 20.

According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo, a Freeze Watch has been issued for Haskell and Throckmorton counties. In addition, patchy frost may also develop in areas along and north of I-20.

There is a chance for a wintry mix of precipitation Sunday night into Monday morning north of I-20.

No significant accumulations are expected at this time.

There is a 30 percent chance of precipitation Sunday night and Monday with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees. 

The first freeze for the Concho Valley is forecast Monday night with temperatures dropping to 29 degrees with a 40 percent chance of showers.
